From humble beginnings to becoming a premier Montessori institution
Southeastern Montessori Academy was founded on 4th may 2004 at Ashaley Botwe to provide quality preschool and kindergarten education to children in the neighborhood. The Montessori method of teaching was employed to enable pupils to read by age five. This was archived by the second year of operation. There was a need to extend the provision of quality education. Hence our Mensah Bar campus was opened in September 2010
Recognizing the growing demand for quality Montessori education, we expanded to include the Primary Program and moved to our current campus in Mensah Bar Township, accommodating 100+ students.
Received full accreditation from the Ghana Education Service, validating our curriculum and teaching methods as meeting national educational standards.
Introduced our Elementary Program, allowing students to continue their Montessori journey through age 12, with a focus on cosmic education and research skills.
Achieved Pearson International accreditation, establishing SMA as an internationally recognized educational institution and opening doors for global opportunities.
Completed major campus renovations including science laboratories, digital learning centers, and expanded playground facilities to enhance the learning environment.
Successfully transitioned to hybrid learning models during global challenges, implementing comprehensive digital learning platforms and teacher training programs.
Expanded our offerings to include Senior High School with specialized tracks in STEM, Business, and Arts, becoming a complete K-12 educational institution.
Today, SMA stands as a premier Montessori institution with over 1000 students, 100+ dedicated staff members, and a legacy of educational excellence that continues to grow.
